It’s a cruel trick to play on new parents: tell them how important breastfeeding is for their babies, and then not provide the help and support they need to make breastfeeding work. Many of today’s parents have been caught up in this situation. La Leche League Canada can help them find the way to achieve their goals. It takes experienced parents, who understand the emotional side of breastfeeding and can share their own stories and the practical tips that helped them, and who will truly listen to the new parents’ feelings and concerns.
It’s simple but incredibly powerful. Sadly, La Leche League Canada is only able to reach a small amount of the new parents who would like the kind of help we give. Can you help us be there for more?
Although our work is carried out by trained volunteers, there are costs to providing materials to families and education for our trained Leaders. We receive no funding from government or from corporations to help us extend our reach. We rely on donations from people like you.
You can use this form to make a one-time donation on-line using any major credit card.
Another option is to become a Monthly Donor. Monthly donations offer all the advantages of one time donations while providing LLLC with stable funding to support our work!
If making a donation by cheque please send it to: La Leche League Canada, PO Box 147, Pickering ON L1V 2R2
“Looking back it is all so surreal. I was a 23 year old first time Mama. I had just moved to a new community and didn't know anyone. Life felt overwhelming; I was scared and unsure. Now, here I am, so sure in all my glory and power of motherhood. I made it, and it’s thanks to so many wonderful Leaders. That's what La Leche League is. The Leaders that were available at midnight to my crying phone calls, the lifelong friends and connections I made. It is priceless and it is so necessary. It’s also why meetings need to continue and be accessible in more places. The impact it has on families is generational and unlike any other.” Leah Mae Johnston, Mom of three, Ontario.
Tax Receipts are issued annually if the total of the eligible donations over a full calendar year is $10 or more. The tax receipts are sent early in the following calendar year.
