Earth Day and Milk

As we end another National Volunteer Week recognizing our Leaders, we take a moment to also recognize the difference we make on the environment when encouraging families to continue breastfeeding or chestfeeding.

This “Earth Day” we recognize how human milk remains the ultimate natural renewable resource and perhaps the most overlooked way of helping to create a healthier planet. Human milk requires no resources for packaging, shipping or disposal. The production and disposal of artificial baby milk (infant formula) products adds to our environmental problems by consuming energy and producing waste.

Celebrate Earth Day by breastfeeding, chestfeeding, nurturing your baby with human milk, or by thanking another mother or parent for doing so. Thank you for taking the time to care about the planet.
