Trans Nursing Tip Sheet

Sometimes the breastfeeding parent you are supporting is a transgender person who may require additional information and/or techniques appropriate for their specific situation. Trevor MacDonald, a trans man who has birthed and chestfed two children, worked with LLLC to prepare Tip Sheets for both lay and professional breastfeeding supporters. The sheets provide definitions of relevant key terms, a discussion of potential physical challenges, as well as suggestions for communicating effectively when supporting trans men or trans women. These Tip Sheets are in the process of being translated into Spanish and Italian; links to the translations will be posted when available. The English version is available here.

Other LLLC Information Sheets to share with breastfeeding familes can be found here .
