We welcome all women interested in breastfeeding, regardless of how or what you feed (or fed) your baby.
Only the Community Hall door (a.k.a. the daycare entrance) will be unlocked during our drop-in. Look for LLLC branded yard signs and follow the arrows to that door, on the basement level, north side of the building, closest to Hunt Club.
Leave your footwear and stroller just inside the entrance. Follow our welcome signs to the Children's Room on the Mezzanine Level, a space dedicated to women and young children.
Seating in the Children's Room is on soft interlocking tiles of the kind one often sees in children's playrooms or gyms. Age appropriate toys are available for infants and toddlers.
While no registration is required, if you email Ottawa.South(at)LLLC.ca lettting us know you plan to attend, we will be able to alert you in the unlikely event of any change.
Drop-ins are generally conducted in English. One of our 5 accredited Co-Leaders speaks Arabic as her first language; please email Ottawa.South(at)LLLC.ca to confirm her availability. Two Leaders are bilingual English/French, and are also "monitrices" with Ligue La Leche (the francophone sibling of LLLC). Leaders will use whichever language(s) best serve those in attendance.
With sufficient advance notice:
- If our Arabic speaking Leader is unavailable, the AMA Centre may be able to provide an Arabic speaking interpreter.
- Bangla and/or Somali interpretation may be available thanks to the AMA Centre.
The venue is of recent construction and should be barrier free. However, we have yet to host a participant who uses a wheel chair. If you roll yourself, please write to Ottawa.south(at)lllc.ca to request a cell phone number to call if you encounter any unexpected barriers.
