June 11 ZOOM virtual get-together:

You are invited to join our VIRTUAL meet-up on Tuesday, June 11, 10 am, Pacific Time. If you would like to attend this virtual meeting, PLEASE LET ME KNOW by EMAIL (preferably at least an hour before) so I can EMAIL OR MESSAGE YOU THE ZOOM LINK. Let me know if you have any questions.

La Leche League offers support, encouragement and evidence-based information. Whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding, hand expressing, exclusively pumping, combination feeding, providing your own or donor milk for a child (or trying/hoping to do so), you are welcome at La Leche League.

LLL Leaders are volunteers who have nursed our own babies and provide breastfeeding support in our communities by phone, text, email, social media and meetings / get-togethers (currently virtual). Expect a warm welcome, acceptance and non-judgmental support when you contact LLL Leaders or participate in LLL groups.

Bring all your breastfeeding and parenting questions, concerns, stories, challenges, and triumphs - we'll have lots to talk about. Looking forward to a great get-together - virtually!

If you can’t make it to a meeting, you can contact a Leader at any time. We'd love to hear from you 🙂

Today’s meeting is #2 of a repeating series of 4 topics: Topic #2 Baby Arrives; the Family and the Breastfed Baby. Is there a favourite childhood book that you are looking forward to reading to your child? You may notice that some of the books from decades ago may not work today - the language or story line may not resonate with current social attitudes or parenting practices. The same can be true of outdated attitudes and breastfeeding information in some parenting books. So, remember to read your books with attention to intention. Books recommended by LLLC, and those in the free LLLC lending library, will be books that have passed that test. Not everything has to come from a book, so let's talk about thIs to start: What have you learned from your baby that wasn't in any book?

From here the conversation will take us wherever the group wants to go, no matter the concern or topic.

We'll help each other with information, share concerns, joys and tips, and enjoy each other's company. Come join us and connect with others who are interested in breastfeeding and parenting, just like you. You will find breastfeeding information, new ideas, questions to ponder, love, laughter and support. Exchanging thoughts and sharing your lived experience is so much more important to yourself and others than you might appreciate. Just being in conversation with other breastfeeding moms pretty much guarantees you will pick up more than you thought possible.

LLLC gatherings are open to breastfeeding women from all backgrounds and family structures. Babies and parenting partners are always welcome. Pregnant mamas find it helpful to attend at least one get-together before the baby comes.
